X-Block Venetian Tile

Make this great looking quilt of diamonds from a simple 9-patch block!  It's all about lights and darks and color placement.  The X-block ruler is the key.  Make the pieced border from your leftover pieces.

LongArm Quilting Class - Beyond Stipple - Machine Owners Only

This class is for experienced quilters who are ready to go beyond a basic meander. Merrilee will show you how to gain control of the free motion quilting machine and make it do what you want it to do.  Suggestions will be made for alternative designs that can be used in “all over” quilting. 

Prerequisite: Students MUST own a longarm machine and have covered the basics of loading a quilt. 

Class size is extremely limited, so early sign-up is highly recommended.  A waiting list will be available for future dates.

Master Quilter Series

Join us once a month for this technique class.  Each month we will cover a different quilting technique.  This short class will be Saturday mornings from 10am to 12noon.  Have a cup of coffee while watching a short demonstration, then try the technique while starting a short project which focuses on the technique.  Check at the store to see what techniques are scheduled for each month.

One session per month - sign up for all three for just $20 per class!

New! Embroidered Quilt for Beginners

What looks like an extremely difficult quilt to create is simply embroidery designs stitched together.  Each individual block is created and embroidered entirely in the hoop!  No skills needed - simply embroider the designs with your choice of 3 fabrics, then sew the blocks together to form your quilt, wall hanging or pillow!  To make things even easier, each of the design CDs includes a 56 page color booklet!

Casting Shadows

Instructor:  Margaret Spevak

Create visual dimension in your quilts by using an easy shadow effect.  This is a good class to learn more about values in color.  You will need a background fabric in two values, and for each block you will need a color in three values (light, medium and dark).  The blocks are strip pieced and cut with a triangle ruler.

Dresden Table Topper

Make this great table topper while practicing some decorative stitches on your sewing machine.  Class will cover basic machine threading, bobbin winding, straight stitching with 1/4" seam allowance and give you a chance to try a few decorative zigzag stitches from your sewing machine.

Embroidered T-Shirts

Learn the tricks to successful T-Shirt embroidery!  We'll cover different fabric marking methods, design placement and discuss various stabilizers used to keep that shirt from stretching - which will make your design outlines match the fill areas!

Class Policy:

Class fees are due at time of registration and do not include materials.  A sewing machine is required for all classes unless otherwise stated. Students receive a 10% discount on all class supplies purchased at Jackie Lynn's for our classes.  Teachers may cancel a class due to low registrations, so if you are interested in a class you are urged to register as soon as possible.  If a class is canceled, you may pick up your check at our store.  All class fees should be made payable to the instructor.  Class registration can be made in person or by mail.  Supply lists will be given out at the store upon payment of the class.  If you sign up by mail and wish the supply list to be sent to you, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your check when signing up by mail.  Sorry, supply lists cannot be e-mailed. Registrations must be made at least one week prior to class.

Experience levels for the classes:

Level 1 = All Levels (no prior quilting experience necessary)

Level 2 = Basic quilting knowledge (understands rotary cutting, 1/4" seam, made at least one quilt)

Level 3 = Made 1-2 quilts, looking for a challenge

Level 4 = Intermediate/Advanced
